At The 5th Avenue Theatre, we celebrate the great American musical in all its forms. We bring new life and insight to beloved classics. We create tomorrow’s must-see musicals, including contemporary musicals that go on to become Tony-award-winning Broadway productions. Show after show, season after season, The 5th wows audiences with original Broadway-caliber musicals that win raving fans, ovations, and awards.

The 2019 Governor’s Arts Award

Toward the end of 2019, our executive leadership, Producing Artistic Director Bill Berry, Managing Director Bernadine C. Griffin, and Board Chair Bonnie Towne traveled to Olympia to receive the Governor’s Arts Award for Outstanding Organization. The Governor’s Arts & Heritage Awards recognize 8 winners each year, and we are honored to be the recipients of this prestigious recognition.

Seattle Magazine’s “Best Theater Company”

It takes a great city to support great musical theater. We couldn’t be more excited that Seattle voted for The 5th as the “Best Theater Company” in Seattle Magazine‘s 2019 reader’s poll. We are proud to give the Pacific Northwest a front row seat to the best in musical theater!

The 2019 BroadwayWorld Awards

Cities are at their best and brightest when they have a lively performing arts scene. We have a large audience that loves our musicals and has a strong sense of ownership in us as a local performing arts institution.
