An Important Announcement About Our 1920 Season Lineup

In the world of new musical development, doors can open and close very quickly. As such, we are announcing two major changes to our 2019/20 season lineup.

First, we are thrilled to share that we will stage an amazing world premiere this winter! The 5th Avenue Theatre will warm hearts this holiday season with Mrs. Doubtfire, based on the beloved Robin Williams film.  We are still excited about creating a new production of Shrek The Musical and will postpone it until the 2020/21 season.

We are also announcing a second change to our 2019/20 season lineup. A captivating original new musical named Bliss will be replacing the previously announced Stu for Silverton. A fairytale fantasy with an addictive pop rock score, Bliss flips the traditional princess narrative upside down.

Even though we do not like to make changes after we have announced our season, we are very proud of the hundreds of thousands of audience members who come to The 5th each year and know you understand that this is sometimes part of the process of being one of the leading theaters in the country producing new musicals.

Show after show, season after season, The 5th Avenue Theatre wows audiences, enriching the community we love with the art form we love, giving the Pacific Northwest a front-row seat to original powerhouse productions that go on to light up marquees and audiences all the way to Broadway.

Our 2019/20 season is a journey of joy and self-discovery. Join us for all six spectacular nights of musical theater and subscribe now!
