Subscribers Made Our Summer Renovations a Reality!

We are so thrilled about the progress of The Next Stage at The 5th! With the support of 670 subscribers this summer, we were able to meet and exceed our goal of $500,000 for the Subscriber Challenge. Thank you for your generosity!

As the gusty fall winds begin, we welcome audiences to The 5th for Man of La Mancha and a first look at our lobby renovation! We previously gave you a taste of the sound system changes that were taking place as well as a peek at the restroom renovations. Now we’re giving readers a first look at the beautiful new lobby carpet!

Classic Lobby Carpeting

Ilobby-carpeting-closeupn our last update, we showed you our lobby without the carpeting. Well the carpet has arrived and it is gorgeous! Here’s a closeup shot of the intricate design. The entire team did extensive research to determine what the original carpet looked like when our beautiful, historic theater opened in 1926. As closely as we can determine, this is spot on. (Though it was difficult to be completely sure because all of the original pictures we have are in black and white!)

Take a look at the historic lobby carpeting, back in the days when The 5th was a movie palace!

We can’t wait for you to see the finished product during our 2016/17 season!
