Lola’s Seattle Adventure

The fabulous Lola of Kinky Boots fame came to visit Seattle recently to get better acquainted with the city before the entire cast rolls into town in April. (Lola wanted to add that she left the rest of them behind because drag queens have A LOT of luggage — Kinky Boots take up so much space — and she wanted to travel light.) Keep track of Lola’s adventures with the hashtag #SEAtheBoots !

Rachel, Erin and Jordan of The 5th Avenue Marketing Team escorted Lola on her adventure of The Emerald City. (Though Lola thought we should think about renaming it “The Crimson City.”) She was a bit of a diva when it came to showing her face on camera, but she was such a doll to pose those boots for photos at some of Seattle’s favorite landmarks.

First stop was the Space Needle! Lola went straight to the observation deck to scan the surroundings. She didn’t have time to go all the way to Mount Rainier, but she loved being able to spot it from the Needle.

While we were at Seattle Center, we stopped by a few other places. Lola loved the butterflies at the Pacific Science Center, and the butterflies loved Lola’s brightly colored boots.

Lola was able to stop by one of her favorite places–Pacific Northwest Ballet. She was able to get in a nice workout with the other dancers at PNB, but after that, she was ready to take a break.PNB

After enjoying the beautiful weather, and the choreographed fountain, it was time to say goodbye to the Seattle Center. We hopped on the Monorail, and went through the EMP to continue on the adventure.EMP Monorail

The city is just fine, but Lola decided she wanted a little bit of relaxation surrounded by beautiful greenery. So she went for a jaunt in Olympic National Park. (We tried to convince her to trade in her kinky boots for some hiking boots, but she insisted that after dancing in her boots for several hours every day, hiking in them was nothing.)Olympic National ParkLola gave herself the night off after the invigorating hike, and decided to continue her exploring the next day. Moving a bit away from Downtown, Lola went across some bridges and into Ballard to visit the Ballard Locks.Ballard Locks 2

On her way back to town Lola stopped in Fremont to visit Gas Works Park. You can see her admiring her domain, and roaming around Gas Works. Lola loves the movie 10 Things I Hate About You, so she had to come and visit the place where some of it was filmed!Gas Works 3

And as she’s such a big fan (of both 10 Things I Hate About You and trolls), Lola made one last stop to visit the Fremont Troll! She did recommend that we replace the yellow Bug with a red one and didn’t want to hear excuses about how difficult that would be to switch.Fremont Troll

Don’t miss Lola, shoe factory owner Charlie Price, and all the drag queens and factory workers in the hit Broadway sensation Kinky Boots at The 5th from April 27 to May 8! Buy tickets here.
